When to choose a small HIAB crane?

Simple unloading tasks

When your load is fairly straightforward – for instance, building materials, steelwork or small to medium containers – a small HIAB truck should do the trick.

Site access is limited

Small HIAB trucks are more maneuverable which makes them the ideal choice for city-based construction sites or other locations where space is limited.

Short transportation distances

It stands to reason that the further away your load has to be lifted, the larger your HIAB should be. For shorter transportation distances – those that are no more than between 3-12 metres a small HIAB crane should suffice.

Lighter loads

The lighter your load, the further the crane can extend. So, if your load weighs less than 3,000 kg, it can be lifted as high as 12.35 metres. For help with estimating the weight of your goods, RS French can provide a full evaluation, helping you to decide which HIAB crane is right for you.
