Spray Foam Insulation

Back to news

What a year 2020 has been and it’s not even over yet! With so much uncertainty and more than a few hurdles along the way, R.S.French has continued to push forward with not only the introduction of new units into the fleet (enabling us to meet customer demand) but also with the procedures we use in the manufacturing process to ensure we have the best products possible on offer to our customers at all times.

With this in mind, R.S.French has invested heavily in equipment and training allowing us to add spray foam insulation to each unit during the build or refurbishment stage. Due to the nature of the product we are working with (a metal shipping container in an ever-changing climate) it doesn’t matter how much insulation you add to the internal framework, condensation will always try to build up in the unit and cause an issue, this is why we are now applying market leading spray foam insulation to the inside of every container shell before we start with the conversion process. Many methods have been tried over the years, from anti-condensation paint and uprated insulation in the walls to dehumidifiers, but once we get that ‘cold-snap’ in the air there is always the potential for a problem and this is why R.S.French made the decision to invest in machinery and training for staff, to enable the successful implementation of the H-30 Hydraulic spray foam applicator. With the main benefit being the additional barrier against moisture build-up, other perks include reduced energy costs and providing additional sound deadening when on site.

With the addition of spray foam insulation, we are confident that condensation build-up will no longer be an issue within our units and we will therefore be at the forefront of our industry – spray foam insulated units will no longer be an upgrade you have to request and potentially pay for when it comes to other suppliers, it will become a standard within the R.S.French hire fleet. This means that moving forward you get to concentrate on the job at hand, safe in the knowledge that your site welfare is more than fit for purpose.
