Types of abnormal loads
- Whatever your job, our commitment to you remains the same. These are just some of the abnormal load transportation jobs our team of professionals have undertaken.
What’s included in our abnormal loads service?
Route planning and surveys
Whilst the load sizes can be similar, the actual movement can vary hugely in terms of complexity. We understand that planning and preparation is the key to the movement of these goods. We take time to understand the nature of your load and plot an effective transportation route to suit, keeping you apprised every step of the way.
Our attention to detail sets us apart in ensuring a safe, reliable and cost-effective movement of your goods. A huge part of this is an ongoing commitment to conducting adequate risk assessments that are tailored to your specific load.
Abnormal load permits and escorts
Abnormal loads which exceed lengths of 18.75m, widths of 2.90m or weights of 44-tonnes usually require a special permit, such as the VR1 or BE16, which we can organise for you. We can also provide subsequent vehicles and personnel to escort your abnormal load if required.
Liaising with all necessary police authorities
In some instances, the police will have to be notified ahead of your abnormal load transportation, either to arrange a police escort, or to grant permission for the journey. RS French will do this all for you, ensuring your goods are delivered safely and in accordance with all legal requirements.
